Fix It or Risk It Toolkit

Every security incident begins with an ordinary moment: a password reused, multi-factor authentication left off, an update postponed, or a system setting changed and never checked.

For movie theatre owners and operators, these moments can happen across the many systems and technologies that keep a cinema running every day. They can be easy to overlook, but they’re also where practical action can prevent a small vulnerability from becoming a bigger risk to your business and operations.

That’s why Cinema United is supporting Fix It or Risk It, a non-commercial, industry-wide public-service campaign from the MPA’s Trusted Partner Network (TPN). Informed by the TPN STAR Report and TPN security alerts, the campaign, which launched today across all platforms, helps organizations recognize everyday moments where security can be compromised and take practical action.

Cinema United Members can access the free toolkit at fixitorriskit.org, which, according to the TPN, includes:
Best practice guidance
Adaptable policy templates
Training resources
TPN security alerts
A free gap analysis
Information about grants

Whether you operate a single-screen or a large circuit, start with actions that are low cost, high impact and easy to carry out, then build from there.

Fix It or Risk It is not a compliance program, certification scheme or sales campaign. It’s a free resource that organizations can use in the way that works best for them.

Recognize the moment. Take the next step. Fix it or Risk it.
