How would you describe TK Architects and its role in theatrical exhibition?
TK Architects International is a full-service firm with 45 years of experience offering all professional design services in-house to simplify and streamline coordination. We are recognized nationally and internationally as a leader in cinema and entertainment design, and we stay current with industry trends by applying relevant experiences to our designs. What’s new at your company this year?
This year one of our projects earned multiple industry honors: LHM Megaplex in South Jordan, UT received the North American Cinema Award (NACA) from ICTA for Cinema New build, as well as the ICF Builder Award for Best Heavy Commercial Build.
How does your company engage with local communities – either where you’re headquartered or in partnership with cinema exhibitors across the country?
We have many partnerships with exhibitors and consistently try to bring them with us into a project if a client asks for recommendations. This year we joined with QubicaAMF for their OneSource program to help new operators find trusted partners with their project. Our goal when working with our clients is to help them become community staples and continue to grow the community with engagement.
What industry trends are shaping your work right now?
We are collaborating with operators to incorporate additional amenities that enhance the guest experience while creating new revenue streams. This includes monetizing existing spaces through strategic repurposing and multifunctional design.
How is your company helping cinema operators evolve?
We are helping some of our clients transform their spaces into family entertainment centers (FECs) that encourage longer visits and repeat attendance, while providing data-driven insights for both new and established operators to attract customers—whether through new builds or revitalizing existing facilities. Through strategic repurposing, multifunctional design, and added amenities, we are supporting long-term sustainability and stronger community engagement.
