How has Cinema United membership been impactful to you and/or your business?Cinema United and its resources have been incredibly valuable to me both personally and professionally. Being part of a collaborative community of industry leaders allows us to share knowledge, strategies, and ideas that push the industry forward. It is reassuring to know we are not navigating challenges alone, whether it is adapting to new technologies, participating in industry-wide campaigns, or tackling the evolving needs of our audiences. For Galaxy Theatres, this collaboration helps us stay innovative and forward-thinking, with year-round support, ongoing communications on the state of the industry, workshops, annual seminars, and CinemaCon. Cinema United has amplified our voice within the industry while also reminding us that innovation thrives best when done together.
My introduction to exhibition came in a way I never expected. While attending a film class that met inside a movie theatre, which happened to be a Galaxy Theatre, I studied filmmaking, production, distribution, and the exhibition industry. As a teenager, I had no idea how the business operated, but being in that environment immediately sparked my curiosity. That interest eventually led me to Los Angeles to attend film school. During that time, I joined ArcLight Cinemas, where I spent 14 years working in operations, events, and marketing while continuing to learn every aspect of the business. Fast forward, I found myself having a full-circle moment by joining Galaxy Theatres, the very company where the exhibition seed was first planted.
There are so many aspects of my job that bring me joy. I love the constant rhythm of the business that comes with every new release and the creative opportunities we have to make those moments unforgettable for our guests. Above all, my favorite thing has to be the people. The connections I have built over the years with collaborators, studio partners, colleagues, team members, and most importantly, our guests and their stories. I get to witness the impact of moviegoing, from first dates to family traditions to once-in-a-lifetime events. Those moments of human connection are powerful reminders that what we do goes far beyond showing movies; we are creating memories that last.
It is hard to narrow it down because there have been so many over the years. From running a 24-hour operation on big releases such as Star Wars: The Force Awakens, to opening new theatres, hosting large-scale events, and collaborating on unique experiences that blend film with local culture, there have been countless highlights. The moments that always rise to the top for me are those where I see the real community impact of our work. At Galaxy, I have witnessed firsthand how a theatre can transform into something bigger than a place to watch a movie. It becomes a gathering space, a safe haven, and a source of joy. Whether it is fundraising events, scholastic partnerships, cultural celebrations, or simply offering guests a much-needed escape during tough times, the power of serving others through cinema never fails to inspire me.

That is a tough question to answer because I have several, so I will share a recent one. One of my favorite moviegoing memories was watching Barbie on opening weekend. The movie itself was only part of the experience. What made it so special was getting all the girls in my family together, dressing up, taking pictures, and having a blast. The excitement leading up to the movie was just as fun, from sharing outfit ideas to walking into a packed theatre and seeing a sea of pink throughout the building. The energy was palpable. That night reminded me of the irreplaceable feeling of the communal experience. Those are the kinds of moments we strive to deliver, pure collective moviegoing magic that cannot be replicated at home.
The exhibition industry has always been resilient and adaptive, and I see the future heading toward even more immersive, community-driven experiences. While the way we tell stories continues to evolve, through advancements in technology, premium formats, or even interactive experiences, the core magic of moviegoing remains timeless: sharing stories together. What excites me most is that we are not just keeping pace with change, we are shaping it. We are constantly exploring ways to elevate the guest’s journey and their experiences. That is where I see the true growth and excitement ahead.
My biggest piece of advice is to stay curious. Opportunities in this business are everywhere, you just have to be willing to ask questions, observe, and keep learning. Most importantly, do not forget to have fun. Movies are about joy, wonder, and connection, and that energy should carry into how you approach your work. Passion is contagious. If you love what you are doing, your team and your guests will feel it too. That is when the real magic happens.
